Liposuction is a surgical procedure aimed at removing excess adipose tissue. Is one of the most popular cosmetic surgeries.

All fat mass is divided into three layers, which differ from each other in location and features of metabolism.

1st layer – superficial, located between the skin and fascia, which cover the muscles in all parts of the body, varies in thickness and density. This layer determines the proportions and contours of the figure, can be adjusted with different types of liposuction.

2nd layer – deep, located under the muscular fascia. Practically not amenable to surgical correction, little inclined to decrease during sports and diets.

3rd layer – visceral (inner), located in the abdominal cavity. Its pronounced hypertrophy can manifest itself in the form of “beer” (convex and elastic) abdomen for  men. For this layer of adipose tissue, liposuction may not give a noticeable effect.

There are two forms of obesity:

Localized form is more common for  women, characterized by a typical location of excess adipose tissue: chin area (“second chin”), anterior abdominal wall, lateral abdomen, outer and inner surfaces of the upper third of the thighs, the inner surface of the knees. This form of obesity is optimal for surgical removal, there is a stable aesthetic effect after surgery.

The generalized form of obesity is caused by hypertrophy (increase) of cells of all layers of adipose tissue in the body, the contours of the body resemble a sumo wrestler.

The most common areas for liposuction are:

  • Abdominal area;
  • Thigh area;
  • Face, especially the chin area.

Compression underwear or bandages should be worn in the postoperative period.

As a result of the operation, excess local fat deposits are removed, the silhouette is modeled, and the cosmetic effect remains stable for a long time.
